ABOUT
Philip H. Scharper’s creative process is fueled by his experiences. As Director of Vitreoretinal services at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and as a parent, Philip has always been concerned with children’s health and well-being. The concept for Santa Claus Was Once a Kid Too arose from this concern, his love of the holidays and his adoration for the time spent reading bedtime stories with his daughter, Grace, whose questions helped to direct the plot of the story.
As a parent, Scharper is inspired daily by his daughter’s growing desire for knowledge and her sponge-like capacity to recall information. The concept for Junebug's Backyard Adventure arose from his desire to instill a love of learning in every child by the fun and interactive experience that JuneBug provides.
Scharper's imaginative and passionate approach to learning shines through in both his writting and his real life experiences.
When not working or writting, Scharper can be found working on manufacturing his own line of healthfood products, spending time with his wife and daughter and running.
